Followers of Jesus delivering his message of
salvation have always been unwanted ever since Jesus himself first
delivered it 2,000 years ago. He was so unwanted by the established
political leadership of his day that early in his ministry they plotted
how they could kill him. Less than three years later, they succeeded;
death by crucifixion.
All of his apostles
(excluding Judas, the betrayer), except one, died a martyr's death. John
was banished to a remote island, all for the crime of delivering Jesus'
message. Paul, initially a zealous persecutor of Christians, after his
conversion became an equally zealous deliverer of the message. He was
imprisoned several times, beaten with rods and lashes, once stoned and
left for dead, and finally beheaded, simply for delivering the message.
Likewise, ever since, Christians have been persecuted and executed because
they are unwanted. Even in the United States, Australia and many other
nations persons publicly proclaiming the name of Jesus are ridiculed by
the mainstream media, denied the right to meet in public facilities, even
fired from their job for sharing the message or wearing a cross in their
lapel.
Many are excommunicated from their family and ostracized from their ethnic
community. But Jesus warned his followers that he came, not to bring
peace, but a sword. His word would set father against son, brother against
brother and those who followed him would be hated for his name's sake.
The good news is that even though the messengers are officially unwanted,
there are always those individuals, even among the establishment, who
accept Jesus' offer of salvation and rejoice in it. Jesus' last words to
his 11 disciples were, "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit." That is why the messengers go.

SU KIM'S
STORY:
Tricked by her teacher
she finds the HIDDEN BOOK but loses her parents FOREVER.
"After your parents go
to bed tonight, if you can find a black book in your home, bring it to
school tomorrow, but don't tell anyone."
The Terrible Cost of Telling the Teacher
Su Kim's teacher
promised her a special -prize for finding a black book hidden at home.
She found one. A Bible. By handing it to her teacher, Su Kim didn't know
she was handing her parents over to the North Korean police.
There was no mummy to meet her when she came home. After-a frightening'
night alone, Su Kim became a state orphan, in a country that hates its
Christians.
Su Kim's true story
speaks of a kind of persecution we can barely imagine in Australia. Yet
our Brothers and sisters are being persecuted all over the world. These
Christians need one thing from you. Your prayers... and your support.
Jesus Christ will
sustain them through suffering. Terrible things are happening to people
like you. People who refuse to renounce the name of Jesus in the face of
adversity. Thus the scripture: " we face death daily for His sake"
continues to be fulfilled even in our so - called civilized era.
How would you respond ?
- To torture
- To being driven from your home
- To your pastor being thrown into
prison
- To being arrested for speaking about
Christ
- To having gunmen disrupt your church
meeting
- To life in a prison camp
- To confiscation of your Bible
- To brutal beatings by police
How would you respond ?
You would press on for
Christ's sake - He gives grace to believers in their time of need.
Persecuted Christians around the globe are pressing on, rejoicing in the
Lord, Knowing they are winning the battle of faith, even when their
bodies have been violated and their friends and families have been
imprisoned, beaten or killed.
