Never commit fornication by the uplifting of your
eyes, drink not much wine, to be led astray, covet not any desirable
thing that is your neighbour’s. Let not guile arise in your hearts, let
no lie pass through your lips. If any man be in distress join your sighs
with his, and share your bread with the poor which wrought godliness,
all your days keep the truth, love the Lord, likewise also every man
with all your heart. If you do these things, every spirit of Satan shall
flee from you, and no deed of wicked men shall rule over you. Have
therefore compassion in your hearts, because even as a man does to his
neighbour, even so also will the Lord do to him. Do therefore, from that
which God bestowed upon you, showing compassion and mercy without
hesitation to all men, and give to every man with a good heart and if
you have not the wherewithal to give to him that needs have compassion
for him in love and mercy. Have also compassion towards every man with
mercy, that the Lord also may have compassion and mercy upon you.
Because also in the last days God has sent His compassion on the earth,
and where so ever He finds hearts of mercy He dwells in him, for in the
same degree in which a man has compassion upon his neighbours, in the
same degree has the Lord also upon him.
